Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Good food for a chain. Bartender been here for a long time has the personality of a snail We come here once a week she still does not say hello . Don't think she likes her job. Too bad.

The saying "no self respecting Italian would eat at Olive Garden" couldn't be any moe true. Wife & I had lunch there. She orders Soup & Salad. I order Flat Bread Pizza, which comes with soup or salad. I choose soup. Our soup wasn't bad. Wife's salad was pretty awful. Lotsa lettuce. Not much anything else. My Flat Bread Pizza was pretty nasty. I'd rather they increase prices than lower quality, as they have done. In all fairness, service was very good & we tipped accordingly. When is Darden going to learn that doing something half assed will always lead to failure. Again, " no self respecting Italian would eat at Olive Garden."

We've been here a couple of times the past few weeks. There was a wait each time we arrived but it was never more than 15 minutes. Once seated we noticed many empty tables. Maybe they slow down the seating so the kitchen staff can keep up with demand. The quality of their soups was excellent. We have noticed that sometimes they put olives and croutons in the salads and sometimes they don't. Sometimes you get a mint after lunch and sometimes you don't. Sometimes the servers talk REAL LOUD and sometimes they don't. Anyway, great place to go to fill up and recharge. We always order the all you can eat soup and salad for $7.95.

I am really starting to believe that 'Bill W.' needs to start taking his Cymbalta before he logs on to Yelp and writes a review. His reviews are always wayyyyy off in my experience. Olive Garden was our Saturday dinner location. Party of three, my mom, hubby and I were immediately seated upon walking in. Our waitress was friendly, smiled a lot and was quick and courteous. We ordered drinks, appetizers and main dishes within 5 minutes of being seated. We ordered the Mozzarella Wedges and Pork & Beef Raviolis as apps. They were hot upon being placed on our table, along side our salad bowl and warm breadsticks. We had enough time to finish our salads and appetizers before the main dish came out. Momma got Chicken Parm and only a tiny bit was left lying on the plate. Hubby got the Tour of Italy and could barely finish half. I ordered the Smoked Mozzarella Chicken and it was amazingly delicious and I barely put a dent in it. We all took our food to go, as well as ordered desserts. Zeppolis, Lemon Cream Cake and I ordered the "special", Tuscan Bread Pudding. We all hit up our desserts a few hours getting home. So delicious but I made sure to save me some for later on today. The portions were well over the norm up North and the bill was reasonably priced. I would definitely make a return trip here.

I've been in a lot of Olive Garden's across this country and the one here on Port Charlotte FL is definitely the worst in terms of service. The soup course was rushed by our server bringing the main course out without asking if we wanted more salad or soup This is not what we have been accustomed to at other facilities

T. E. R. R. I. B. L. E. We went to give it a try after not having gone to an OG for 10+ years. Our experience was bad then and nothing has changed. App - pick three calamari, ravioli, fried cheese. 3 out of 5 Salad - meh... 3 out of 5 Seafood pasta with veg - blect! Hardly any sauce, microscopic veg pieces and over cooked shrimp, clams, scallops. $17 is $10 too much for this dish. 2 out of 5 Trio of crap - hubs subbed some stuff. Dish was suppose to be, eggplant parm, chicken parm, and lasagna. Per server nothing is frozen... All "parms" made fresh daily. NOT. Totally frozen. 2 out of 5 Kids chicken and pasta - 3 out of 5 Overall bill with one cortino of wine was $74. We should have just gone to Visanis or Carrabas in Port Charlotte. Would have had a similar bill for better food. Heck I would have rather drive to Buca Di Beppo over an hour away than eat at OG again. Yuck. We won't be back.

Well, I tried Olive Garden again to use up my gift card. This time I went on a Saturday night, busy so the bread should always be hot and the salad cold. It was just the opposite. The bread was greasy and lukewarm at best. The salad was WARM. How is this possible? I was afraid to try my entree, so I summoned a server to get my server. He said he would get a manager. I demanded no, just to have my server bill me for my drink so I could tip her. I don't know if the servers are supposed to check the bread and salad before serving. Naturally, a manager comes over. I told her the issues and asked to pay for my drink and let me tip the server. On a busy night, the bread should always be hot and the salad always cold. She agreed and begged to get me anything I wanted. Who would want anything after that! I said no. And that it was not the server's fault. She said I wouldn't be paying for anything. All these corporate chains blow. I still have $30 on a gift card and I'mgoing to give it to a homeless person. It'd be fine for them. But I'll never go back again. Worst place I've ever been to. Sad that it used to be a great place. That's what corporate does. Corporate should have to work the restaurant in all areas, not just sit in an office masturbating and laughing about how much money they make ruining once good restaurants.

The "tour of Northern Italy" was very very good and quite enough for me altho I felt it was skimpy proportion for the price. Our waitress was not very attentive and after a 30 minute wait to fill our empty tea glasses, another waitress got new ones for us. Kudos to the nearby waitress for noticing.

If you have children DO NOT go here. Apparently the staff does not know that you take care of the children with something before ,as they are hungry . Crackers, grapes, something.. Just spent the worse meal . Waiter was not good, lack a dazey, management tried to accommodate me, but by then I was just to far gone. I feel for those that were seated by me,I was not a happy camper...I counldn't even eat, so upset. People behind us got their meal before us and we had been there 15 min. Before them!!! But I did tell them they would comp the meal.. They did comp it, for that I say Thank you. But they need to have stAff meeting....

The Chicken & Shrimp Carbonara was fabulous & the service was just as good. Took mom & sis in- law out for dinner here last week. Sis is Gluten free & she ver much enjoyed her Gluten free salad & pasta dish. The Carbonara was amazing! #ExcellentDinner #ExcellentService ...can't wait to go back!

Not worth the money. Endless salad bowl my foot! The entrees arrived table side before we could finish the first small plate of salad. Drinks (wine) is over priced. The diner portion was small. No wonder Darden is having earnings issues. Bad!

We went again with family. Husband and children enjoyed their food but mine was not what I expected and waitress took it back. Unfortunately, kids and husband were just about done before my dinner came out. Waitress was very good even though it was her first day. She did a great job. Manager came out and took my food off the bil and gave us desert to take home since I had the problem of my dinner. They did what they could to fix the situation. It may be a little while before I go back but we will return and try again...at least I know if there is a problem they will make every attempt to make it better.

food was great, service awful - kelsey was our assigned waitress and my companion and i are very patient people. we should not have had to ask 3 times for straws, extra napkins. we specifically asked that the main course not be served before the soups were finished, and that too was ignored. then she lost the coupon i had. then she switched credit cards and lost the original bill. kept saying she would bring a pen, but it had to be 10-15 minutes before we actually had the correct bill, credit card and pen. too bad, but the food was fantastic. if we go back we'll just make sure not to have kelsey assigned to us.
